Gemini launches initial public offering on Nasdaq
Augmentum portfolio company Gemini has launched its IPO on the Nasdaq, joining the ranks as the third US-listed crypto exchange.
Augmentum CEO Tim Levene commented: “Gemini’s successful IPO marks an important milestone for the company and for the fintech ecosystem. We are pleased to see strong investor demand for the offering, which validates the progress Gemini has made in building a regulated and trusted platform for crypto trading and custody. The IPO provides further evidence of the increasing maturity of the digital assets sector.”
Gemini’s listing reflects a wider trend of fintech and digital asset firms coming to public markets. Recent high-profile fintech IPOs, such as Klarna and Chime, signal a return in investor appetite, but also that patience and sustainable growth are critical as the sector matures.
Augmentum participated in Gemini’s first institutional funding round in November 2021, through ParaFi Capital.
